Interactive Projection

„Backtrack“ is a walk-in cube of semi-transparent fabric panels that create a breathing, dynamic projection surface. Visitors step inside and become part of a fragile play of light, texture, and image. A rear camera captures them from behind, projecting a distorted, analog-modified live image back onto the fabric. This confrontation offers a self-encounter from an unusual perspective — following one’s own trail and movement, between intimacy and distance, control and its loss.

The projections react to motion: they distort, flicker, dissolve, or overlay, turning clarity into fleeting shadows. As visitors move through the panels, they immerse themselves in their digital likeness, accompanied by an analog-inspired audio track that echoes the video effects. Backtrack blurs physical presence and digital projection, reflecting on identity, visibility, and self-image in a culture of constant mirroring. The space becomes an interface; the subject an apparition, dissolving into sensory perception.
